Tiger Stress Syllables

  • One consonant comes between two vowels, devide after the first vowel to create an open syllable (long vowel).
  • Places stress on the first syllable of the word.
  • Great way to introduce open syllables/stand-alone long vowel words and practice decoding these multisyllable words
  • 48 words to practice in total including added initial and final blends and silent-e syllables for scaffolded difficulty. Prefixes also included for added morphology/discussion.
